Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! December 2005

Hello All!

This year has been a busy one for us. This time last year, we were living in Missouri City, Texas. Jennifer was working as a Certified Nurse-Midwife for Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. Stephen was working as a Software Engineer for a small company in Sugarland. We moved at the end of January to a small town called Belton here in central Texas. It’s about an hour north of Austin.

Jennifer now works as a Certified Nurse-Midwife on the Ft Hood Army Base in Killeen. She is one of 16 midwives in a very busy practice at the Darnall Army Community Hospital. Stephen is working as a Computer Systems Administrator for a company called Sagus International in Temple. We are both enjoying our jobs very much!

Our main reasons for moving were to get out of the craziness of Houston and also to be closer to our families. We are extremely thankful that God led us here to Belton. We have been extremely blessed by a wonderful church home at the Belton church of Christ. It is a very active church with an especially active Young Marrieds group. There are about 25 young couples in this group.

Secondly, we LOVE not dealing with all the traffic and stress that Houston brought with it. We are now spoiled with being within 5 minutes of just about everything important. We both drive about 20-25 minutes to work, which is much improved over the 45 minutes to an hour we were driving previously. Church is about 2 minutes from us. Wal-mart (the ever important store) is about 1 minute from us. Then, we have Belton Lake a couple of minutes down the road from us as well. What more could we want?!

When we moved here, we moved into an apartment while waiting for our house in Houston to sell. In November, a day before our 2nd wedding anniversary, we bought a house in Belton. We were very anxious to get back into a house after downsizing to a 2-bedroom apartment from our 2-story house. We love our new house. We are still trying to get everything unpacked. We look forward to hopefully staying in this house for years to come! It’s definitely big enough for us to expand into.

I guess that’s about it for us in a nutshell. We are extremely thankful for each and every one of you. If you’re ever in the central Texas area, stop by or give us a ring.

God bless each one of you!

Love,

Stephen and Jennifer Joyner
