Colby had his 6 month appointment today.

He weighs 18 lbs 5 oz, so I guess I overestimated a little bit.  That puts him at 60%. Isn’t it crazy how boys are just supposed to be bigger!?  Their growth charts are so different from girls.

Measured 26 inches, which put him just below 50%. Honestly, when the nurse measured, I know he was at least 26 1/2 inches. I saw his heel go to at least that. Oh well. He’s growing!

He got all his shots including the flu shot.

He was charming and just smiling and laughing at the doctor. (Of course, his tune changed when the needles came out…)

Abriella joined us, and she received the flu mist. She really wasn’t a fan of that being sprayed up her nose, and she said she wanted the shot…I really don’t think she knew what she was saying! HA!

Both are doing well today.  Colby fell asleep in the car on the way home and I put him right to bed. He woke up after a couple of hours and played for an hour or so, and then ate and went back to bed. Currently, still sleeping. Abriella also took a nap today. Nice!

I wanted to write a few of the things that Abs has been saying lately. She speaks extremely well, but she sometimes makes up words. One that just cracks me up is that she talks about things that she did “lasterday”—meaning to say yesterday, but I guess she’s combining last night and yesterday for “lasterday.”

Also, since potty training, she likes to delay bedtime or naptime by saying she needs to go potty right as you’re putting her to bed or a few minutes after you’ve left her room. Many times, this results in NOTHING! You get her entire sleeper off and sit her on the potty, and she then says, “I don’t need to teetee.” UGGH. So, to hopefully put an end to this, we tell her that we will spank her if she doesn’t do anything (because she DOES know when she does and doesn’t need to go). This has resulted in several spankings. Well, lately, she has been doing this, and both Stephen and I brace ourselves to spank her, but she does end up going some, so that’s good. So, we tell her good job and get her back in her clothes.  She now says during these times “I love you sooo much. I’m so excited to see you!” How can you be mad at her then???

She’s definitely started saying “I love you,” or “I love Colby,” and things to that effect lately, totally unprompted. It’s incredibly sweet.

She also told me today (as she was leaving my room) that she would be right back. She said she was going to get God! I asked her where he was and she said he was in her room! HA!

One day, we were eating lunch and something fell on the floor. I picked it up and put it on the table. She said, “I don’t want that one.” I replied that she didn’t have to eat it (as it had fallen on the floor, although that certainly doesn’t stop us much of the time).  She replied, “Tuba will eat that one.” HAHA!

I’ve also started giving her a daily vitamin recently. I figured it was probably good for her, seeing as she’s a bit of a picky eater… NO idea where she gets THAT! So, she asks for her vitamin pretty much first thing every morning, and always wants another one. I totally see why kids OD on those. I guess they taste really good! But, we keep them well out of reach and have told her that 1 a day is good for her, but more than 1 will make her sick! She’s starting to not ask as often for the extra vitamin.

Yesterday, Stephen and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! I couldn’t be any more blessed with such a wonderful man to spend my life with! We haven’t had much time to spend just relaxing lately with showing the house and taking care of these munchkins.  We were making plans for a weekend to ourselves sometime in the future. Probably once Colby is weaned, we will try to sucker somebody into keeping our kids for a weekend while we go somewhere for a few days.

Ok, I’ll stop for now. I would add pictures, but Abs is demanding my attention now. I’ll try to add some later!

Ok, here are a few pictures.

Happy Monday!

Cute pics! Taylor has done the same thing with needing to potty as soon as we put her down. We did the same thing you guys are doing…if she doesn’t potty, she gets a spanking. We also make her go before we put her down. This has pretty much stopped her saying she needs to go, unless she really needs to! I love all the fun things kids say…lasterday…too funny!
