Santa and…Thanksgiving

Ok, I’m a little behind, I know. Here we are sneaking up on Christmas and I have yet to put my Thanksgiving pictures up! Well, I’m going to add a link here to the pictures we took while in Arkansas with my family. It truly was a great time. We enjoyed seeing my brother, who has a nephew that favors him a lot…the double chins certainly look alike! HA! You’ll see that in some pictures! My Mom cooked a lot and I gained some pounds while there. That’s a sign of good cooking, right? RIght! My Little Grandma was also there and enjoyed being around a couple of her great grandchildren. Enjoy the pictures! (More below the link)

Thanksgiving 2009

So, we are set to close on this house on January 15th. There was some craziness that occurred after the inspection, but we all finally agreed on something. They waived the remainder of their option period and plan to pay in cash at closing, so everything should be in order. We signed the rental agreement for the the rent house. We’ll start moving stuff over there as soon as we get the key for it. January 1 is when we’ll be able to do that. Then, they have started on our new house. We go on Monday to meet with the field manager to go over everything we had chosen for our house in our contract to make sure everyone is on the same page there. Exciting stuff! Needless to say, we have been busy!

We managed to make our visit to see Santa today. Colby kept looking up at Santa and wanting to grab his beard. They finally got a picture of both of them at least looking in the general direction of the camera. Smiles…no. Soon after they took the picture that we have, Colby started crying for some reason. Not sure if he was irritated that we kept wanting him to look towards us, or if he decided he didn’t want to be in Santa’s lap. No idea. Anyway, here is that.

And, for comparison’s sake, check out last year:

And, the year before:

Isn’t that crazy?! And, we noticed they had a new Santa this year. This one actually seemed to enjoy the kids though! The people taking the pictures seemed more personable too. I think it might’ve been a whole different group that was doing the shin-dig at the mall this year. Worked for us!

Ok, that’s the brief update for now. Gotta finish my cards to get them in the mail tomorrow! If I don’t post again before the big day, praying everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas!!
