Hot Summer Days

Well, it’s really hot these days. We finally decided to start watering our lawn after nearly killing some of my flowers. I noticed some of them were really wilting. I actually thought some cat had come and wawlered (no idea how to spell that word…actually, I’m thinking maybe that is just some word that I gained from my Arkansas heritage…) in my flowers, but then I just realized they were dying to be watered. We haven’t seen any rain in a couple of weeks, I think. My flowers are perking up though after a little nourishment. Stephen is always conflicted with watering our yard and mowing. He wants our grass to look healthy, yet he isn’t super fond of mowing. The more you water, the more you have to mow. The less you water, the uglier your yard looks. Such a conflict.

I’m going to get a new haircut tomorrow. It’s going to be a big change. If I don’t like it, I guess I’ll just start wearing lots of hats! Should be interesting. I’ll let y’all know how it turns out. My girlfriends are all excited for me. However, they may just be trying to be nice… and saying in their heads…"What is she thinking?!" If they are, they are very good liars! They all promised they would still be my friends even if I looked horrendous. haha.

Well, I think I’ve finally become old. You know you’ve reached an interesting mark in your life when you start to get excited about a Tupperware party!  I never thought this day would come. But, alas, it has. Speaking of getting older, Stephen had his birthday this past Saturday. He’s finally on the same side of 25 as I am. It’s about time. I think one of these days, he might even catch up and pass me!

My brother is home on R&R from Iraq for a couple of weeks. I’m not sure if I’ll get to see him or not though. My schedule doesn’t seem to be conducive for a visit, unless he comes to see us. I don’t know what his plans are outside of going to visit my mom in Arkansas.  We’re thankful that he made it home safely though, and we are very anxious for his deployment to be over!

Well, I guess I’ve babbled on long enough. Hope everyone is staying cool in this hot summer weather. Have a great day!
