So Cool!!

If you’ve ever been to our house, you’ve likely heard our A/C and maybe even complained about it (Mom—-hehe)…and, if you’ve ever seen our bills, you’ve seen how inefficient our cooling apparatus is. The first time (of several encounters) we had someone out to fix it, the guy took a look at it, and told us that units like ours don’t usually last longer than 10 years. Well, it was already 14 years old at the time. Now, we are in year number 16, and it is STILL operational. Uggh! We keep wishing for it to die, but the repair man (same one that is always sent by our home warranty peeps) that comes told me last time that this particular warranty company will continue to replace parts and parts if they can, and will never replace it. Well, duh, that makes sense to me now, and I’m sure it’s the same for all home warranty companies. That’s more calls that we have to make and more money for them everytime we have to have someone out. It just made us sad to face up to that. Well, we have finally decided it’s time to look into and invest in a more economical/efficient system. So, we had the first salesman over today to discuss options. We’ll have a couple of other companies out to compare what they all have to offer. Wish us luck, and pray we make good decisions.

So, off of that subject. Onto my favorite subject—-the child! One thing that we have noticed in our child from the early days is that she’s really strong! People make comments on it often. Well, you can see it in how she plays with her toys. She doesn’t gently play with them. She MANHANDLES them! It’s pretty funny to watch actually. Rather than lightly tapping her little hands on the play piano keys, she slams her hands on it, and then proceeds to yank it up and turn it upside down and then bang on the bottom of it! Rather than push the big boat along to make the music play, she lifts it and puts it upside down or moves it elsewhere through the air. When her friend, McKenzie, came over, she tried to barrel over her, pulled her hair, etc. Abriella, the bully! Her tunnel that she can crawl through……well, she just sits beside it and does arm exercises by lifting it up and down. I guess she gets her weird strength from her daddy! Hopefully, she’ll be able to fend off the mean and ugly boys at school one day!

So, she had her first busted lip on Monday. I’m not sure how she did it. I’m guessing it was one of the many times she fell. I just happened to notice blood on her lip when I picked her up. She didn’t seem to be bothered by it. So, at this stage, she tends to fall numerous times daily. It’s one of those things that just happens when you are cruising and trying to stand up on things that don’t support your weight, or when you aren’t really graceful at going from standing to sitting. Part of the learning process, I suppose. We try to clap for her and say “yeah” so that she won’t get all wimpy on us. Of course, we pick her up and love on her if it’s a really hard fall. We’re not mean parents…really!! Anyway, she’s tough!

Well, I had better close for now. Stephen just got home from a softball game. I’ll post more later!

How can I sleep when I have to practice standing?!Why should I nap when I can practice pulling up instead??

I love my daddy! Being with Daddy

So you want to get rid of the albatross huh? Well, Michael keeps hoping his will die too, but so far, no luck! Hope you find a good one, at least one with a muffler!ha!

Home warranties can be curse in disguise. We got rid of ours about a year before our water heater broke, and then I kind of wished we had it, but they probably wouldn’t have given us a new water heater, they would have tried to repair it first.
