9 Month Appointment

Abriella turned 9 months old yesterday. Can’t believe we are 3/4 of the way to a year old! So, she had her well-visit appointment today. She is now 19 lbs 3 oz (just over 50%), and is 28 inches long (75%). The pediatrician said she couldn’t ask for her to be any more perfect in her measurements, so “she (Abriella) is indeed as perfect as you think she is!” Well, of course! She didn’t have to tell us that! haha! Anyway, she is completely healthy as usual. Thank God for that. She also commented on how “incredibly strong” she is. She said that she will walk before a year– “She has incredible strength.” Anyway, all is well on that front, and thankfully, no shots today! Whew! Just a checkup.

Well, our child just loves solid food, but only if she can feed herself! Also, it can’t be mushy (like squash…) because she won’t eat it that way. She’s very good at feeding herself though. We just put pieces of fruit, veggies, or whatever the food may be on her tray, and she goes for it. We haven’t found much that she has refused in this manner. She loves some strange foods that mommy and daddy may not care for. Of course, she loves bananas. But, she also loves some things like asparagus, green peas, and green beans. Aren’t ya’ll proud that I’m feeding her stuff that I don’t eat?! haha. But, she’s eaten blueberries, plums, mangos, carrots, potatoes (she doesn’t like mashed potatoes….too much like baby food, I guess), rice, grapes, pears, apples, avocado, cheerios, and a few other things. She’s really enjoying the experience, albeit messy at times.

Well, my train of thought has derailed, so I guess I’ll close this for now. I’ll post more later about the child when I remember what I was going to say. haha! Have a good one! (Don’t forget birthday presents….. haha!)
