Wednesday

IT’S COOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today, we’ve had amazinginly strong winds! The power went off in the hospital 6 times due to the wind. It also went off all over Killeen those times, including the other hospital in Killeen. The wind gusts were 50 mph and more. The entire way to work and back, I thought my little Mazda was gonna blow away! It has made for extremely cold weather. Well, probably not as cold as the weather for you Colorado folks. We’re quite cold though.

We had a good anniversary last week. We started it off by sleeping in. It was great! We basically did nothing all day. We went to eat at Texas Land and Cattle for dinner, which was fabulous! We were absolutely stuffed.  Stephen bought me some beautiful flowers. That was really sweet of him. We’re looking forward to our anniversary trip in January.

On Saturday evening, we went to our friends daughter’s 1 year birthday party. This is our friends that live down the street and go to church with us. Bethany was very cute. There were a lot of people at her party, and a LOT of babies. I think Stephen and I and only 1 other couple there didn’t have a kid. I told Stephen we should’ve grabbed a kid on the way in! The joy of not having a kid though was that at the end of that party, all of the babies were getting tired and cranky and they all fed off of each other. And, we got to leave without taking a crying kid with us! That’s a nice feeling!

Well, I can’t believe next week is Thanksgiving! We’re making a whirlwind trip to Lubbock for that. Speaking of thanksgiving, thankfully, I got all of the holidays off again this year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years). That makes 2 years in a row that I’ve lucked out. Helps when you have midwives that volunteer to work different holidays. We have enough that they get covered without me. What a blessing.

Well, Stephen and I are going to be helpers on Wednesday nights starting this quarter for this thing at church called TeamKID (Kids in Discipleship). We are going to be with the 4th-5th graders. Yep, you got it, I suckered Stephen into it. Actually, he said, sure, let’s sign up. Turns out it will probably be one of the easiest things we’ll do as far as helping with kids classes. Stephen and I will have a group together (most have 1 adult with a group, but Stephen didn’t want to do it alone). However, turns out that the first 2 weeks of this new quarter, I’ll be working, so Stephen will be on his own anyway! He thinks I planned it that way to torture him. hehe! We’ll see how it all turns out.

Well, I think that’s it for now. Nothing much else going on. Everyone stay warm!
