What’s in a name?

Ridley David Joyner

Some have asked us where we got the name Ridley.  Contrary to what some may think, it was not from Ridley Scott, the famous film director and producer.  However, that was the name that I thought of when Stephen presented the name for discussion. It wasn’t just a name that we found on a name list either.  So, here is the inspiration behind the name. You can check out this link for a short version or you can refer to Foxe’s Book of Martyrs and read the longer version of the story of Nicholas Ridley and Hugh Latimer, two inspiring members of God’s kingdom who showed the world how to finish well.  Stephen prefers the story in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs because it gives far more detail and is much more inspiring, in his opinion. May we all strive to have the effect of these two men.

So, there you have it.  🙂
