7 Months

Ridley is 7 months old today! Wow! And, he sure has had a big month. The little guy is making some big moves in the mobility category! I’ll post a video in a second. Here is a couple of pictures for his monthly chair picture. ย And, no, he doesn’t have red hair. He is like Abriella in that some of these baby pictures of his show reddish appearing hair, especially some in the sunlight. But, there is no red that we can see in real life.

Here is a video of what he started doing this week. Well, I’m pretty sure he does this in his bed and has been for a while, but this is the first time he’s started doing this outside of his crib. Yesterday and today, he started getting up on his hands and knees, too. We are in for some trouble! He tries to get into everything we are doing!

Ridley on the move

Here is another cute video of Ridley and Colby a couple of weeks ago. If this doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will!

Laughing Brothers

What is Ridley up to lately?

*moving everywhere! He rolls like a champ, and you see what he’s doing in the video as well. We need to re-childproof the house ASAP!

*chewing on EVERYTHING! I won’t be surprised if we see more teeth soon. His 2 little bottom teeth are coming in nicely. They are so cute.

*Takes bottles as a last resort. I had 3 days of co-teacher training for Providence August 7-9th, and he took bottles from Stephen. He will only take this bottle . However, those night, and for a few days after, he abused me, and got up numerous times at eat. So, he ate just enough to get by. ~sigh~

*Usually wakes 1-2 times a night (over a 12-14 hr period).

*Goes to bed usually sometime around 6pm. Gets up usually sometime after 7 or 7:30, but this varies. He’ll talk and play in his bed for quite a while until we decide to go get him. ๐Ÿ™‚

*Loves to jibber jabber. Of course, we hear him say “dad-da” although I know it’s just a part of his babbling! ๐Ÿ™‚

*Doing pretty well with eating solids. We try to give him a try every day for one meal. But, if he’s tired or the timing for us isn’t good, we skip. If anything, eating solids makes him get up more at night–I think his tummy is just trying to figure out what’s going on, so it may give him a slightly uncomfortable tummy. He’s tried apples, sweet potatoes, bananas, squash, green beans, peaches, and we’ve gone through some of those a couple of times. His obvious favorite so far is apples! He does NOT like squash (can’t say I blame him!), and that one ends up burped/spit up all over his bed by morning time. Yellow spots everywhere! So, we may put that one aside for a while.

*doing better with sitting, but certainly not independent in that yet

*loves, loves to smile!

*loves his siblings!

*not sure how much he weighs, but still pretty certain he is still smaller than our others were at this age.

*still in his infant carseat. he’s made it 2 months longer than Abriella and 5 months longer than Colby. HA! We can still click his seat onto the stroller, which is awfully convenient! He also still will fall asleep in the car in his seat, so we aren’t ready to switch him to a convertible seat just yet.

*doing good with cloth diapers. we have had to break out the diaper sprayer since he started solids. poops are getting a bit stinkier now!

*such a happy baby! we just love, love, love this little guy!

Happy 7 months, Ridley! Slow down, baby boy!
