This is how Abriella says “night-night” which we say before naps and at bedtime. Well, Abriella kind of got off on the wrong foot with naps this week, and it started catching up with her by Wednesday. So, on Wed, she went to bed 1/2 hr earlier, and was doing better on Thursday, but still her naps weren’t very long. So, by 4:00pm, she is practically begging me to put her to bed. She brought me 2 of her 3 naptime books to read to her, and she kept saying, “nigh-nigh” over and over. Well, at that time, it’s too late for a nap. Sorry girl! So, by the time Stephen gets home, we pretty much go right to her bath. She didn’t dawdle in there, either, like she does a lot of times. After we got her out and ready for bed, we were standing in the hallway by her room, and she’s pointing at her room, and exclaiming, “NIGH-NIGH!” Ok, Ok, we get the point, chica! So,I was feeding her at 5:45 for bedtime!! We didn’t hear a peep from her until this morning. I fed her a little after 6am, and then put her back in bed, and she didn’t wake up until 7:45am. And, she went back down for a nap at 9:15, and slept an hour. Now, she’s down for nap #2 at 1:00pm. I guess I’m glad she knows how to communicate her needs. If only I could get her to understand that if she would take longer naps, we wouldn’t have to do the bed thing so early, but hey, whatever works. Hopefully, she’ll get back on track now!
She did take another couple of steps towards me yesterday. She was standing at her ottoman filled with books, and she handed one to me, then she positioned herself facing me, and she took 2 steps to me and then fell and crushed the plastic egg she was carrying. Ooops. But, hey, we’re getting there! We’re excited for her to start walking!
She also has another tooth that I noticed yesterday. That’s #7! It was the matching top one. Now, we have 4 on top, and 3 on bottom. She’s been doing great with cutting all of these teeth lately. I feel like she’s been popping them through a lot lately!
I’ll leave you with some pictures. Most of them I made black and white. I know the grandparents don’t care for the B/W, but hey, there was a reason this time. These were taken on Wednesday, and this was a really bad day for naps, so her eyes were showing it! She was happy, but looked SOOO tired, so I made them look a little nicer. I’m glad that she has learned how to tell you when she needs to sleep. They all get off track from time to time–it’s just the way things work. I know that it is exciting to see her starting to walk–she is changing every day! Love the pix, though as her grandma, you’re right, I like the color ones!

It amazes me how much she looks like her daddy!! She will be walking before you know it, and then you will really start to have fun!! Isn’t life so much easier on a schedule!!
