First Day of 1st Grade and Homeschool

We are getting back into the groove of a new school year! Abriella started back to Providence last Tuesday. She has been sooo excited to start back to school! As you may recall, with this school, it is a university model school, so she goes on Tuesday and Thursday from 8-3 with her teacher and her classmates for a “regular” school day. Then, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we do school at home. This year is different from last in that Ridley doesn’t take a morning nap anymore, so he is with us the whole time. Makes things more interesting! 🙂 And, Colby is very serious about his school, too, so I have to make sure I have things planned for him each day. Since he’s Pre-K this year, there are lots of good things he can be working on this year. He’ll start to his Tues/Thurs preschool next week.

We have a little table that we used for Abriella last year. Well, since Ridley is with us, and Colby is more involved, Abriella needed to be higher up. So, I had the little table set up for the boys with her on a big desk. I had already mentioned to Stephen that we’d need something more next year when Colby starts Kinder because of Ridley’s “helping” during school (Read: Colby gets frustrated because Ridley tries to help, which in turn, frustrates Ridley). Well, this weekend, my friend, Amanda, posted that she had placed a desk on the curb for anyone to come get for free. Stephen went and grabbed it up. We cleaned it up (read: hosed it down). Then, I moved things around and now each child has their own corner! Score! That made things a lot better today than last week! Here are some pictures from last week and today (you can click on any picture to enlarge it).

Praying for a great school year!!
