Thankful Thursday

Emotions are running quite high in our society right now. Several things I have reminded myself of lately have brought me comfort. No matter what side of the ticket you are on, these nuggets are golden. This world is not my home! God is in control no matter what. We must look to him for peace despite what goes on around us. Several verses that I will share.

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”-Colossians 3:2

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” – Matthew 6:27

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:33-34

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or see in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” -Philippians 4:6-9

“God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” – I John 1:5

“I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” -Psalm 27:13-14

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The Lord is the strength of His people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.” -Psalm 28:7-8

I could go on and on, but you get the point. Wow, how thankful I am that I am God’s child! God has saved me and made me righteous! Praise His holy name!!

I am so thankful for my husband who loves me dearly and takes care of me and our children day in and day out! I am thankful that he is patient with me. I am thankful that he works so hard so that I can stay home with our children. I am thankful for his corny jokes! I love him! What a great worker for the Lord!

I am thankful for Abriella and her vibrant and inquisitive soul. I am thankful that she loves to read from the Bible every day. I love that she wants to help me all the time. I love her conversations. I love that she plays with Tuba and Pa all the time. I love her singing! What a sweet, precious gift from God!

I am thankful for Colby. I am thankful for his quick smiles and toothy, cheesy grin. I am thankful that he loves his sister. I love his energy. I love that he enjoys clapping for himself! I love that he hums when you sing to him. I love that he dances when you sing Jesus Loves Me to him! What a wonderful, precious gift from God!

Thank you, Father, for all the blessings you have poured on me! I look forward to joining all the saints in heaven one day! I pray I can be a blessing to others while here on earth.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. when can I go and meet with God? …Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” -Psalm 42:1-2, 5

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” -Psalm 46:1-3

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” -Psalm 19:14
